Quick FAQ

When Can I File?

You can file now — we’re open and accepting submissions. Please note: the IRS typically begins fully accepting and processing returns around January 24–26 each year. If you submit early, we can still prepare everything so you’re ready as soon as the IRS opens.

Timing varies by return, but most refunds are issued within 14–21 business days after the IRS accepts the return.
One important exception: if you’re claiming PATH Act credits (such as EITC or the Additional Child Tax Credit), the IRS is required to hold those refunds until after February 15. This is a federal law, and refunds cannot be released early.
If you need funds sooner, refund advance options may be available for clients who qualify.

If you choose a refund advance, we submit the request with your tax return — it’s not a separate application. It’s a simple yes/no option during the filing process. The lender reviews your information and determines eligibility and the amount. If approved, funds are typically issued within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

No. Tax returns must be prepared using official tax documents (such as your W-2 and/or 1099 forms). Filing based on a pay stub can lead to incorrect income and withholding amounts and may cause delays or IRS issues.
Most tax documents are required to be mailed or made available by January 31.

At minimum, have your photo ID, Social Security cards/ITINs for everyone on the return, and all income documents (W-2s, 1099s). If you have dependents, have school/daycare information and any letters you’ve received.

Yes. Prior-year filing and amendments are available and pricing varies based on complexity.
